The Great American Teach-In

A local artist took some time out of her day to come visit our school and talk to the Visual and Graphic Art Majors. Mrs. Ann Norton one of the founders of Lake Wales Art Show brought some of her clay creations to our art room. Visual Art Major students are currently working with clay creating turkey pinch pot and leaf imprint bowl. Mrs. Norton passion is also in clay and has created leaf impint candy dishes herself. She also brought many of her coil pots to show the students. Visual Art Major students began using cookie cutters to cut out different Christmas shapes to paint and make into jewlery to sell to our students at Hillcrest. Mrs. Norton also creates her own jewlery using different objects to cut out shapes. The students had some time to observe her own clay creations and ask questions. Thank you to Mrs. Norton and my students are looking forward to creating coil pots and their own jewlery.
