Bowls For Hunger

My visual art majors class is very lucky to have the privalege to help the Lake Wales Care Center raise money for hunger. The Care Center has a program to help raise money for hunger and for our art program by painting bowls and selling them to our parents.

We began the process by sketching out an idea for our bowls. We discussed how these bowls will be bought by our parents, grandparents and friends so try to make it something they would want on a bowl. Tuesday we began to paint the bowls. We had some frustrated students that realized it was harder than it sounded, but we worked through the problems and tried our best. Some had to paint over their designs a few time to get it just right but they are a work in process. Some just had trouble getting their idea on the bowl. Here are a few bowls as they dry in our kiln room.
Please come join us on May 20th for our Spaghetti Night put on by our fabolous PTO. You can purchase a dinner and maybe a bowl or two. While watching our dance and chorus students. Remember the funds go toward our PTO, art program and Lake Wales Care Center's Bowls for Hunger project. Hope to see you there!
