Our special need teachers are always very good at helping me incorporate art into their lessons or units. They were working on volcanoes and I had the perfect project I could modify to work. Using an acitivity I did with last years art majors from The Artist Woman titled Tissue Paper Textured Painting. At the top of the mountain we added more tissue paper to look like it was errupting. I think the kids loved getting a little messy while gouping on the Gesso. I notice this brand of watercolor is not the best and soaked up some of the color. To compensate for that we used oil pastels to highlight. Here are the end results!
