I am lucky to have a great group of 4th and 5th graders who have choosen to be in Visual Art Majors. Therefore I give them assignments different from the K-3 grades. We jump into ceramics much earlier than the other grades. This year I found two real cool ceramic projects on DeepSpaceSparkle.com. We have a huge tree right outside our art room and we have taken advantage of the huge leaves that have fallen off the tree. We made leaf bowls with the leaves, I used this project for my college class Art For Elementary. The pictures are the bowls from my very creative Warner Universtiy education students. Another project we worked on were turkey bowls. The student started with a pinch pot and formed it into a turkey shape. Here are a few pictures of our projects.
