Art For Elementary

At the beginning of the year I was asked to teach our local University (where I graduated from with my BA and MaEd) Art for Elementary. I was a little nervous since I did not go to college for art but for elementary education. The professors had confidence in me and I was wishing I would get to teach this class one day. They were my first group of college students and they were a great group to start with. Today was their last day and I will be sad not to see them every Friday morning and hear their stories. We always had an hour to work on our "college" art work and then they had an hour with one of my kindergarten classes. Oh I am sure they learned a lot from that one hour. The kinders loved them and I am not sure how I am going to get used to teaching them again. Well on our final class they created art learning centers focusing on a specific artist or illustrator. In the center they had to include information about the artist/illustrator, examples of their work and an activity for us to complete that connect with the technique of the artist. They all did a wonderful job and I took some pictures of their centers.
