Paul Klee Landscape

Dynamic Art Projects For Children had a lesson using Paul Klee's landscape painting as its inspiration. Second grade began with a discussion on using objects other than a paintbrush to paint. Paul uses a piece of cardboard or posterboard to sketch out his paintings.

The second class we used watercolors to paint in the landscape, this took 2 classes for some of my students.

The third or fourth class we used a small sponge to add the tree tops.

  1. I love this project... am going to do with my fifth graders this week... and emphasize the sky so I can integrate a science unit.
