Once again my Art Major student's used clay to create Christmas ornaments and necklaces. We used cookie cutters to make small trees, big trees, gingerbread men, candles, circles, and snowmen. After we fired them I decided to paint half with tempera paints and the other half with our slip and glaze. Because the slip and glaze has to be fired multiple times, we charged a dollar for those. The student picked out which item they wanted and I would make it a necklace or ornament. We made so many and my poor art majors were ready to move to the next project. I had to pick up the slack and paint many myself, which I enjoy. We did pretty well and sold all of them. I even took the time to add some detail with puffy paint to the less glossy and fancy ones. This actually made the non-glossy ones more desirable.
