Lemon Still Life

Kindergartners were introduced to our art vocabulary word still life and looked at a few examples of still life art by Van Gough and Soutine.

We discussed what they saw within the still life painting and the colors. Then we moved on to light and dark within art. 

I used this example to show how light shines on objects which creates a shadow. We talked about where the light is and where the shadows are created. 

Then I showed the students how it looks like in photography and in art. Which lead us into our drawing video for week 1 and painting video one and two in week 2.
