I am not quite sure when I noticed that our art room looks so boring. I knew I couldn't spice it up until the summer arrived. Well summer came and will be gone in 15 days for me so I was getting worried I wasn't able to paint my room. Well last week I made a split decision to go buy the paint and slap on the first coat. It only took two days and as I worked I came up with some good ideas on making it a little more interesting for the kids. My color choice was Windy Blue because I know blue is a calming color and as students are coming in to my room PE they can be a bit rambunctious. Since I have such big pieces of furniture on the two side walls I just painted the front and back wall with Windy Blue. I have three bulletin boards in my room, so I went with something a bit brighter like Canary Yellow. Once the basics were painted I started giving it a little more of my creative touch. I splatter painted the bulletin boards with green, blue and pink. I used the yellow to outline the doors over the blue. Then I found a stamp in my room of waves. I used the stamp with blue and pink and went over the yellow line around the doors. I also used the waves to outline certain block cylinders to highlight areas that we use in my room for instance above the sink, pencils sharper, paint brushes, paint and hand washing station.
