Bird Paper Collages

Some of my third graders created a paper bird collage. After learning what makes a collage a collage students painted and splatter painted different colors on to paper. After a few classes my instructions on the splatter process became better. Some put the nozzle straight to the paper and squirted which didn't make a splatter but a splat. After all the paper dried we outlined a pattern for a tropical bird or gator. The next art class is when we glued the bird or gator to the background. Some then added detail with oil pastels.
